Leaderboard & rating
A skill rating that moves with every match, five rank tiers, and a global ladder.
How rating moves
Gulag uses a standard chess-style rating formula. Beat higher-rated opponents and you gain more; lose to lower-rated ones and you drop more. Team matches (Clan Battle) average each side's rating so a single match never swings your rating wildly.
Note
Everyone starts at
1000, and no single match can move your rating by more than 32 points.Rank tiers
| Tier | Rating range | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Initiate | 900 – 1199 | Practice + Head To Head access |
| Operator | 1200 – 1599 | Unlocks Free-For-All |
| Specialist | 1600 – 1999 | Clan Battle eligibility |
| Overwatch | 2000 – 2399 | Season payouts scale |
| Void | 2400 + | Top of the ladder |
